Bridgestone Americas Tire Operations, one of the world’s leading tire manufacturers, has an immediate job opportunity for a Mechanical Engineer at the Wilson, North Carolina passenger tire manufacturing facility. Under the direction of the Engineering Manager, this position is responsible for the design, installation, and continuous improvement of assigned machines to maximize the safety, quality, and operating efficiency of the plant. This position is also responsible for maintenance technical support as needed.
Responsible for the safe design, procurement, installation, debug, start-up and operation of the plant equipment and projects as assigned.
Support the production needs as necessary for equipment operation and reliability.
Assist maintenance in troubleshooting equipment and control problems to keep production equipment operational.
Serve as technical lead by preparing design reviews, budgets, schedules, drawings, and scopes of work for project implementation.
Provide the necessary information including project documentation and training for emergency maintenance and preventative maintenance crews.
Participate in monitoring and evaluating the performance of existing systems, processes and technologies and recommends modifications and enhancements to improve quality and/or efficiency.
BS in Mechanical Engineering or other technical related field.
Minimum 2 years of engineering experience.
Strong communication skills.
Project management experience
Prior experience in a manufacturing environment.
Experience with AutoCAD and Inventor software packages.
Machine design experience.
Experience with SAP, MS Project, and MS Office.
