Description/Job Summary

Nashville, NC

The purpose of the Feed Delivery Driver is to deliver feed to chicken farms and deposit feed per orders in an expeditious and safe manner. This position is located in Nashville, NC.

2nd shift

Responsibilities/Duties

  • Perform a pre-trip inspection at the beginning of each shift and post-trip inspection at the end of each shift.

  • Climb up to the top of trailer and move on the top to load 9 compartments

  • Driver must use an extended inventory pole as he/she takes inventories at each farm they delivery to.

  • Driver must operate truck in a safe manner, while continuous inspection of truck. He/She need to present a positive image while driving the truck on all highways and correct as well as report any unsafe conditions.

  • Maintain a point free license while operating a manual truck for durations up to 12 hours a shift by federal, state, and Perdue's driver standards/requirements.

Required Qualifications

  • Must have a Commercial Drivers License (CDL) from the state of North Carolina and a current copy of your driving record (MVR) for the past five years.

  • Reading, writing, math, and analytical skills are required.

  • Endure seasonal weather and temperature conditions while at the Feed.

  • Ability to operate a manual truck for intervals of four hours up to a normal duration of twelve hours.

  • Must wear and/or use protective and safety equipment required for the job.

Preferred Qualifications

  • Have a minimum of 2 years driving experience in class vehicle for which you are applying. (Class "A" CDL)

  • Experience in transporting feed is a plus.
