GENERAL SUMMARY OF DUTIES: Coordinate outgoing referrals for the Internal Medicine and other departments as required/needed.
SUPERVISION RECEIVED: Reports to Resources Coordinator; Operations Manager.
SUPERVISION EXERCISED: None.
TYPICAL PHYSICAL DEMANDS:Requires prolonged standing or sitting. Requires frequent bending, stooping, or stretching. Requires eye-hand coordination and manual dexterity sufficient to operate a keyboard, photocopier, telephone, and other office equipment.
TYPICAL WORKING CONDITIONS: Normal office environment.
Must have high school diploma or equivalent.
Associates Degree preferred in related field and at least2 years of experience inmedical officeposition or specializationrequired; or the equivalent combination of education and experience.

COMPUTER SOFTWARE UTILIZED:NextGen and Centricity EMR.GENERAL DUTIES: (This list may not include all of the duties assigned.)
Schedule and coordinate outgoing referrals to offices both inside and outside of Physicians
Complete and send Request for Referral Appointment Authorizations to Managed Care Representative.
Notify patient of referred appointment date and time.
Coordinate and schedule patient follow-up appointments.
Follow through to verify appointment was kept and report to referring provider.
Provide backup to front office staff as needed.
Work as a contributing member of a team to keep departments running smoothly.
Participate in in-service education, staff meetings and other continuing education programs to maintain optimal technical knowledge.
Adhere to department and company policies.
Attend safety classes and compliance training as offered by Physicians East, P.A.
Maintain confidentiality at all times.
Participates in educational activities, as necessary.
Attends required meetings and participates in committees as requested.
Enhances professional growth and development through in-service meetings, education programs, conferences, etc.
Performs related work as required.
