The Plant Manager at our Gardner Quarry in Bunnlevel, NC is tasked with directing and managing all plant operations with overall responsibilities for safety, production, maintenance, quality and other production-related activities. This position ensures compliance with all standards, policies, and regulations for safe, environmentally-sound production of a quality product.
The Gardner Quarry produces 1.2 million tons of aggregates annually and has 3 salaried manager direct reports and 18 hourly employee direct reports. This position reports directly to the Area Operations Manager.

What you’ll get to do:
Opportunity to build an aggregate processing facility
Plan and direct the daily operations of an approximately 1,200,000 ton/yr. quarry producing crushed stone.
Effectively and proactively administer Lehigh Hanson’s safety program ensuring compliance with MSHA rules and regulations,
Manage direct reports under the guidelines of Lehigh Hanson HR Policies and Procedures,
Oversee the production planning, staffing, and day-to-day manufacturing operations in a cost-effective manner,
Prepare operational schedule and coordinate production activities to ensure production and quality of products meet specifications,
Troubleshoot and resolve operational, manufacturing, and maintenance problems to ensure minimum costs and prevent operational delays,
Establish key inventoried items needed for all MRO (maintenance, repair and operation) items for the plant, and effectively interact with governmental and regulatory agencies, customers, vendors, Lehigh Hanson management, and neighbors as required.
Who we are looking for:
Bachelor's degree with mining-related discipline or the equivalent in relevant work experience
At least 5 years of quarry management experience with prior P/L responsibility
Excellent verbal and written communication skills
Excellent organization and time management skills
Proficient working knowledge of Microsoft Office products
Solid understanding of government regulations and demonstrated ability to impact safe working practices
